Philosophy of Human Person

Humanity is a word used to the humankind for being ‘humane’ with wisdom and humility which is gained through the activation of mind and its creation of cultural ways of living in time and space. Humanity is not just being aware of humans when one can do something to them especially when basic humanity is being dismantled or damaged by any situation. The reason why one should not destroy humanity is that one’s consciousness automatically endows him or her with the notion of morality. It gives one a sense of what’s wrong and what’s right. The world would be insignificant without morality. However, humans cannot deny the existence of morality, and therefore one cannot justify destroying a fellow human. Morality is one thing that sets humans apart from animals.
Meaning of Humanity as an “end in itself” and Kant’s Argument
For one to be regarded as humane, he or she has to reason practically and with a moral view. Kant went ahead to argue that if a morally practical person can evaluate and assess himself or herself with his fellow rational beings depending on how he or she treats other beings. Based on equality assessment one can value himself depending on standards. The standards can be low, neutral or high. The criteria that one considers in the evaluation process include assessing one’s sensibility as a being and also checking on his or her moral predisposition.
Kant went ahead to argue that human beings must pursue their end which is a duty to every being. When doing this duty, one is not expected to take part in moral arrogance. Instead, he or she has to be conscious of other people’s morals and its significance. He went ahead to claim that practicing false humility is not our end duty. False humility is the act of trying to equalize our moral self with other human beings.
One has to practice true humility to make this world a better place. True humility deals with humans relating directly to the moral laws and its principles. Kant went ahead to list the end duty examples which consider the dignity of the entire humans amongst themselves. These dignifying acts included practicing empathy, being kind and compassionate, respecting others and being morally upright. Humanity should not have people with aggressive behaviors, who ignore the sufferings of the less fortunate, abuse or lack compassion for others.
Justifications
Kant’s argument was right. His claims dramatically help in determining that which is morally required of us in real life situations. For instance, acts like giving food to a sick, hungry child instead of taking it to religious places, and helping an accident victim instead of taking photos or walking away is practicing humanity. Kant goes ahead to list qualities of humans not to be like those of animals. Humans should practice empathy, respect, admiration, love, care, and many others to our fellow humans. Other factors that make one humane are ambition, emotional intelligence awareness, the quest for individuality and conscience.
Key factors that play a significant role in humanity as a theme are morality, ethics, ideals, ability to ask for the meaning of life, and the ability to try and answer the meaning of life. The world would be fascinating if humans could respect themselves and others too. Respect is when we do not hurt other people by always being confident and standing firm against any form of unfairness to others. Humans have to stay in the society like brothers. For instance, if a guy is crossing the road accidentally bumps on a citizen’s car or bicycle on the road before the traffic signal has turned green, and he or she apologizes, one ought to ask if he or she is hurt. The act of asking if he or she is okay shows care and the value of humanity over material things. One thing that is not flexible is that tomorrow is not guaranteed and we should focus on what good we can do now that will have an impact on someone.
Humanity is critical to the living of human beings. In the modern world, one will come along people who violate humanity in different ways. It can be about the crimes in the city including rape, murder, and many others. It is about the discomfort and cruelty towards the needy people in the society. Nevertheless, there is every lousy side in this nature. Amidst the lousiness in the society, a good and good enough state exists to balance the nature. Some good people pursue the end by leaving examples of humanity. The good people not only entail the prominent people in the society but also the people one encounters in their surroundings getting involved with their soul to feed the humanity. However, humanity is affected by an enormous factor, ignorance. Ignorance can turn humans against one another. It is the mortal enemy of acceptance.
Humanity is a byproduct of consciousness. No matter how corrupt lower orders are, the highest level orders should never get corrupt. Most humans tend to lack sensitivity; they are selfish and egotists. Humanity still shines in certain humans or certain spontaneous acts of humans. When nature or the human race gets destroyed, understanding goes away. Humanity denotes qualities like empathy, gives meaning to politeness, sincerity, and compassion when one thinks of it. Any humane person should always be kind when others approach him or her for help, have good manners and behavior towards other human beings, and help one according to his or her capacity. Most of all, they should show gratitude to the creator.
