Reasons
for an Appeal for more Financial Aid
I am writing to
appeal against the current level of financial aid I receive as it is not
sufficient due to the reasons I am going to highlight. First, I am changing my
major from communication design to general study by transferring to VCU dental
hygienist program. I finally found interest in the field of dentistry.
Initially, I was in Art, but after gaining some experience in the field of dental
hygiene, I have developed a special interest in it as a career.
Secondly, I have
retakes in some classes like introduction to communication, mathematics, and
history. I was not able to pass successfully in these classes due to low
confidence, lost interest, and hard time after my parents separated. However, I
currently feel more confident and I have changed my perception towards
education. Therefore, I will have a better GPA as I will prepare for my studies
adequately.
After completing
six courses during the summer semester, I got a voluntary job. I am currently
offering voluntary services at the county dental clinic. Thus, the experience I
am gaining will serve as the foundation of becoming a dentist. I have great
hopes that this financial aid will help me pursue my education and achieve my
childhood dreams of becoming a dentist.
The little
experience that I have gained has helped me develop clear learning goals. I’m
going to complete the transfer requisites for VCU dental hygiene program after developing
a passion for the dental field. Consequently, I will shift to VCU and become a
dental hygienist. Afterwards, I will continue to study in the dental school for
higher academic qualifications. Besides, I am 26 years of age, a clear
indication that I am not young. My greatest passion is to become a successful
immigrant, and woman in life.
Best Regards
